Take the Court with the Player of the Week: Wyatt W.
How It Started: A Push from Mom, A Passion Discovered
Wyatt’s volleyball journey began with a simple nudge from someone close—his mom.
“My mom got me to start playing.”
That encouragement led to practices, games, and an ever-growing love for the sport. What started as something to try became something he truly enjoys and is now fully committed to.
The Prevail Experience: Kindness, Chemistry, and Teamwork
When asked what he enjoys most about being part of Prevail, Wyatt doesn’t hesitate—it’s the people.
“How nice my teammates are and how kind everyone is.”
The supportive environment allows him to thrive not just as an individual player, but as a teammate who's learning how to grow within a group. He’s found his place here—and it’s a place that challenges and encourages him all at once.
On the Court: Communication is Key
Wyatt is building his identity as a reliable hitter and a vocal presence on the court.
“My hitting and how I can communicate on the court” are his biggest strengths, and he’s earned them through hard work and building trust with his teammates.
“Training and just getting to know the players” helped him unlock his ability to read situations and connect quickly.
He sees his communication as his greatest asset to the team—always making sure that the players around him are dialed in and ready for the next play.
Always Improving: Reading the Block, Raising the Bar
Right now, Wyatt is laser-focused on sharpening one specific part of his game:
Understanding where the defense is and how to adjust in the moment is a tough skill, but he’s leaning into the challenge with determination and curiosity.“Reading the block.”
What Keeps Him Going
For Wyatt, staying motivated is simple—but powerful.
“To impress my parents and to just strive to get better.”
He plays with heart, with pride, and with the kind of work ethic that makes a difference over time.
What’s Next for Wyatt?
As he continues building his skill set, communicating with confidence, and working to outsmart blockers, Wyatt is showing exactly why he’s a valuable part of the Prevail family. He brings consistency, connection, and a whole lot of effort to every rep—and we can’t wait to see how far that mindset takes him.
