Tuesday Triumphs: Playing for More Than Wins

This weekend wasn’t just about volleyball—it was about community, giving back, and carrying the Prevail mindset into every setting. From a local fundraiser to a high-level open division, our athletes and alumni showed up, supported meaningful causes, and brought their game to the court.

MASH Fundraiser Triples: A Weekend of Purpose

The annual MASH Volleyball Fundraiser brought athletes from across the region together in a community-focused tournament aimed at raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention. It’s a powerful reminder that volleyball has the ability to go far beyond the scoreboard—and Prevail athletes didn’t hesitate to get involved.

From current players to alumni to coaches, the purple and black were well-represented across the tournament.

Matt S. and Bradley G. (16 Platinum) teamed up with Joey C. (17 Pink) to form one of the standout squads in the field—playing with energy, teamwork, and grit. They weren’t alone. Several alumni stepped up to support the cause and bring their experience back to the court.

Drew McIntyre (Class of '21) returned to the sand with his team, reminding everyone that once a Prevail athlete, always a Prevail athlete. Connor Roth (’24) and Will Sierer (’23) teamed up with a friend to form another squad—showcasing strong chemistry and competitive drive.

In another trio, Billy O’Connell and Tanner Laukhuff (both Class of ’22) paired up again and continued to show the same level of hustle and heart they were known for during their time at Prevail.

Even the coaching crew got in on the action—Coach Monica hit the sand with her team and brought a sense of leadership and fun to the day, setting the tone for what it means to give back through the game.

Finally, Dean H. (18 Platinum) rounded out the Prevail presence, playing alongside friends and bringing the fire he’s known for indoors out to the triples format.

Alumni Spotlight: Pushing the Limits at Horsham Day

While the fundraiser was happening locally, Noah Gunderson (Class of '23) was competing in the Men’s Open Division at ECV’s Horsham Day—a high-level outdoor event that draws top talent from the region. Known for his athleticism and relentless drive, Noah continues to test himself in elite environments—and keeps the Prevail name strong in every bracket he enters.

More Than a Game

This weekend was a perfect reminder of what makes Prevail special. It’s not just the skill or the competition—it’s the commitment to showing up, giving back, and being part of something bigger. Whether it’s raising awareness for mental health, reconnecting with teammates, or chasing growth in open divisions, our athletes continue to lead on and off the court.
