Take the Court with our Player of the Week: Chloe L.

This week’s Teammate Tuesday spotlight features Chloe L. from 15 Platinum—a player whose journey into volleyball has been filled with growth, resilience, and a team spirit that shines on and off the court. From trading in her dancing shoes for kneepads to competing for championship bids, Chloe has found more than just a sport—she’s found a second family and a place where she truly belongs. Let’s explore why Chloe is our Player of the Week and how she’s making an impact in every practice, game, and team moment.

How It All Started: From Dance to Volleyball, with a Little Help from a Friend

Chloe didn’t always see herself on a volleyball court. In fact, she spent most of her early years dancing—until one day, she realized that her heart just wasn’t in it anymore. That’s when a friend stepped in and opened the door to something new.

“I started out dancing most of my life and just lost a love for it. In sixth grade, my school had a middle school volleyball program. My best friend told me about it and invited me to try it out since I wasn’t involved in a sport anymore. I ended up loving it!”

That spark—fueled by friendship and curiosity—ignited a journey that would change everything.

Why Prevail? Hard Work, Heart, and a Second Family

Ask Chloe what makes Prevail special, and she’ll tell you it’s the people, the memories, and the drive to get better every day.

“My favorite things about Prevail are the family-like community, how hardworking everyone is, and all the memories made. I’ve gotten so close with so many people and made memories with all of them. The teams here are so motivated and hardworking, and it shows!”

For Chloe, Prevail isn’t just about volleyball—it’s about belonging and building something bigger than yourself.

Putting in the Work, Seeing the Results

One of the clearest moments of growth for Chloe was when she and her team won a bid this year—a weekend where everything seemed to click, and she could finally see how far she’s come.

“Getting the opportunity to win a bid this year. I played the best that weekend and I felt like that weekend finally allowed me to see that I’m making progress as a player.”

It was more than just a win—it was a turning point that confirmed she’s exactly where she’s supposed to be.

Proud Moments: Philly Bid Match Against PA Elite

When Chloe thinks of her proudest moment, she goes back to the championship game in Philly—a match that demanded their best and brought out a new level of play.

“The championship game in Philly against PA Elite. We won our bid that game and my team and I just worked so hard that weekend.”

It wasn’t just about skill—it was about trust, chemistry, and the determination to finish strong.

Growing Together: From Pressure to Pure Joy

Sometimes, the biggest wins aren’t about comebacks or final scores—they’re about learning to let go of the pressure and just play for each other.

“We didn’t make a big comeback or anything, but it was the first time that we all just kind of came together and really had fun. When we were down, we weren’t in our heads for once, and we didn’t play down.”

For Chloe and her teammates, that mindset shift was as valuable as any trophy.

Memories That Last a Lifetime

One memory Chloe will never forget? The bid win—not just because of the medal, but because of the laughter, connection, and feeling of family that came with it.

“Winning a bid. I know bringing that up is kind of repetitive, but it was just a great moment and the best we’ve ever played together. That weekend was full of fun and laughter that I’ll never forget.”

The First That Stuck: Making a Club Team

Chloe still remembers the nerves and excitement of her very first tryout—the beginning of everything.

“My first in volleyball was making a club team. I started in sixth grade when I was 12 and tried out for Prevail that same year. I didn’t have much confidence that I’d make a team, given that I hadn’t played for long and my skills and IQ weren’t amazing. I made the Platinum team that year and made lifelong friends like Ashton Brandt and Sophia Bucy that I have gotten the opportunity to move forward with and be on the same team as them every year since.”

It’s a reminder that the biggest step forward often starts with one small decision to try.

What’s Next for Chloe?

Chloe continues to grow her game and her leadership on 15 Platinum. From learning to trust herself to celebrating the little moments, she’s becoming a player who doesn’t just play hard, but plays with heart—and her teammates are lucky to have her.
