First Serve Friday: Weekends Are For Volleyball

When the weekend hits, we know where you’ll find us: out on the court, where the grind never stops and the game keeps going.

For the Prevail family, this weekend isn’t just about playing volleyball—it’s about showing up, giving back, and pushing ourselves a little further. From fundraiser tournaments that support local programs to battles with some of the region’s best, we’re proud to see so many of our athletes, alumni, and coaches representing what it means to be Prevail Tough.

Playing for a Cause: Polar Smash

The Polar Smash Volleyball Tournament is more than a game. It’s about giving back to the volleyball community by supporting Northern High School, and that’s something we can always get behind.

Athletes like Robbie R. from 16 Platinum are stepping up to compete with fearless energy, while Anden S. of 18 Platinum brings his fire and finesse to every point. Sawyer C. from 18 Pink will be on the court showing his steady rhythm, and Griffin C. from 14 Platinum is proving that even our youngest athletes are ready for big stages.

Logan T. of 17 Platinum plays with an intensity that sets the tone for his team, and Joey C. from 17 Pink is always evolving, always improving. Bradley G. of 16 Platinum is known for his unwavering hustle, and Savian C. of 18 Pink never fails to bring that spark and heart to the game.

And of course, Ryder M. and Avery S. of 16 Purple, two teammates who’ve been pushing each other all season long, are teaming up to take that chemistry to the grass court. Together, this group of Prevail athletes is turning a weekend of volleyball into a chance to support a great cause and show what it means to play with purpose.

Raising the Level: Keystone Frenzy

At the same time, the Keystone Frenzy hosted by East Coast Volleyball is where some of our toughest competitors are taking the court this weekend. It’s a place to face new opponents, test skills in a different environment, and see just how far you can go when the pressure’s on.

Coach Kenny is trading the clipboard for a jersey, showing that leadership never rests and that you’re never too old to step back on the court. Coach Tyler, who leads 17 Platinum during the indoor season, is joining him, bringing the same passion and focus to this summer showdown.

They’ll be joined by alumni like Drew McIntyre from the class of 2021, who continues to prove that the Prevail mindset sticks with you long after your last club practice. Christian Sheaffer, another 2021 alum, is returning to the court to compete with that same relentless drive. Billy C. from the class of 2022 is back in action, bringing his grit and game sense to every match. And Noah Gunderson, fresh from the class of 2023, is showing that the next generation of Prevail alumni isn’t done making noise.

These athletes and coaches aren’t just playing—they’re raising the level, challenging each other, and setting the standard for what it means to compete with everything you’ve got.
