Take the Court with our Player of the Week: Addy C.

This week’s Teammate Tuesday spotlight goes to Addy C. from 16 Platinum—a player whose volleyball journey has been a powerful evolution of family roots, personal growth, and inner strength. What started as a way to carry on a family tradition has turned into a true love for the sport, and Addy now plays for something even bigger—herself. Let’s dive into why Addy is our Player of the Week and how her perseverance has shaped her into the athlete she is today.

Where It All Began: A Family Tradition Turned Passion

For Addy, volleyball wasn’t just a random choice—it was part of her family’s DNA. Surrounded by relatives who loved the game, she naturally found her way onto the court.

“My whole family played volleyball, so at first I was doing it for them. But then I realized how much I really did love the sport—so now I do it for me.”

That moment of realizing her own love for the game became the foundation for everything that followed.

Why Prevail? Growth, Friendship, and Trust

What makes Prevail special for Addy isn’t just the coaching or the competition—it’s the lifelong friendships and the journey of improvement she’s shared with teammates she’s known since day one.

“Being able to grow and improve with the girls I've been playing with since I first started.”

For Addy, Prevail is more than a club—it’s a place where trust is built, memories are made, and dreams are chased together.

The Journey: Overcoming Stress and Embracing the Game

When Addy first stepped into competitive volleyball, it wasn’t all easy wins and smiles. The pressure and expectations weighed heavily at times, bringing stress into something that was supposed to be fun.

“When I first began volleyball, it used to bring a lot of stress into my life. Then I slowly taught myself how to overcome those obstacles.”

Through time, resilience, and the help of her support system, Addy learned to refocus on joy, teamwork, and personal growth, transforming challenges into stepping stones.

Biggest Challenge: Building Confidence

Early on, Addy struggled with one of the hardest things for any young athlete—confidence. Stepping up, taking risks, and trusting her own abilities didn’t come easily at first.

“One of my biggest challenges when I first began volleyball would have to be confidence, and having the courage to step up for my team.”

Her journey toward finding her voice and embracing leadership on the court is one of the clearest signs of how much she’s grown—not just as a player, but as a person.

Fuel for the Fire: Family and Friends

Through every serve, every match, and every late-night tournament, Addy has drawn strength from the people who believed in her most—her family and friends.

“My family and friends are my biggest supporters. Whether they are physically at my game or not, they are always watching. This made me feel like I needed to work harder for them.”

Knowing she’s playing for more than just herself pushes Addy to dig deeper, fight harder, and play with heart.

A Constant Source of Strength: Her Dad

Among all the influences in her volleyball journey, Addy points to her dad as the biggest.

“My dad has been one of the biggest impacts in my volleyball life. He’s at every one of my games and tournaments, and always knows how to keep me positive. He influences me to push myself until I can't anymore.”

His unwavering support reminds her that even in the toughest moments, she’s never alone—and that belief continues to fuel her climb.

Addy Carst has overcome stress, built her confidence, and embraced volleyball as her own journey. As she continues to sharpen her skills, grow her leadership, and honor the people who helped her along the way, she’s showing what it means to play for the love of the game—and for herself.
